Publisher of Quality Fiction, Poetry and Non-Fiction

About Leapfrog Press

The Leapfrog Press was created to search out, publish and aggressively market books that tell a strong story. We're located in a small fishing village near the tip of Cape Cod, famous for its oysters, art galleries, ocean beaches and the writers who have settled here since Edmund Wilson and Mary McCarthy first made it their home. Our list is eclectic and represents quality fiction, poetry and non-fiction; books that are referred to by the large commercial publishers as mid-list, and which we regard to be the heart and soul of literature.

While we're always on the lookout for new talent, we're keenly aware that some of our best working writers have trouble placing their books with the conglomerate-owned publishing houses because they are not perceived as attractive to the media or potential best sellers. We see ourselves as a home to favorite titles forced out-of-print as well as new works by accomplished writers and those just starting out. It is our experience that good writing is only the beginning. A successful book has to be edited with care, beautifully packaged and marketed with enthusiasm. Perhaps most importantly, it has to remain in print long enough to reach its audience.

Our publishing program includes hardcover and paperback originals, as well as revised and repackaged trade paperbacks. What we promise is writing that expands our webs of connection with other humans and the natural world; books that illuminate our complexities; tough, unsentimental books about our difficult and sometimes insanely funny choices in life and how we make them.
