Leapfrog Author Receives Rona Jaffe Foundation Award

We are delighted that upcoming author Helen Phillips (And Yet They Were Happy, Leapfrog Press, spring 2011) has been named as recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer's Award. This award, which comes with $25,000, is given each year to honor the special contributions of women writers to our culture and society. The awards support women writers of exceptional talent, to make writing time available to them.

Helen Phillips is an adjunct lecturer in the creative writing program at Brooklyn College. She received the 2008 Italo Calvino Prize for Fabulist Fiction, the 2009 Meridian Editor's Award, and a Ucross Foundation residency. Her work has appeared in a number of journals.
